Turkish Airlines has had membership with the Star Alliance network of airlines since April, 2008. Located in the Ataturk Intl Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, these airlines have more than fifteen thousand employees. Turkish Airlines has been the recipient of several prestige awards, recently.
One such form of recognition, given by Skytrax, is for offering the highest quality of Economy Class flight food services in the world. In addition, Turkish Airlines has been said to be the fastest growing airlines in Europe. This should not come as a surprise considering the number of consecutive years in which profits have grown.
There seems to be an increase in passenger flow especially among expatriates. Once they pick good licensed moving service to relocate, then their next move is to estimate moving costs, and select Turkish Airlines as their carrier of choice.
Turkish Airlines will be establishing a new route to Valencia in Spain at the end of March, 2011, which will be serviced four times per week. Istanbul to Malaga (Spain) is the next route that will receive Turkish Airlines’ flights regularly, starting in April. There will be a flight available three times per week. These routes are in addition to the existing Barcelona and Madrid routes. This merely the beginning of what will likely be an active year for Turkish Airlines. The airline will be subject to intense expansion throughout the rest of the year, with many routes expected to be opened up. A number of flights to France are being planned for the summer of 2011, with destinations such as Toulouse, Paris, Nice and Lyon. Thus, the company will be flying to 175 international destinations and the year is still at the beginning. Yet, one more US flight gateway was put on Turkish Airlines’ list in June, 2010. This is the most recent expansion which brings the number of gateways that start in the US to three, which also includes nonstop travel from Washington DC to Instanbul, Turkey. Dulles Intl Airport will have 4 flights originating from it. The Airbus A330 is the preferred airliner. The move represents continued efforts to allow more Americans the opportunity to discover the beauty of Turkey and all she has to offer. Quite naturally, it can be said that Istanbul has both modern and old world history. Also, a fourth US gateway is planned for March, 2011, originating from Los Angeles California to Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport.
The purpose of the Turkish Airlines rewards program is to get people to upgrade to better classes as often as possible. Their customer and passengers stand to gain the most benefits from this upgrade. Whether wishing to travel in Business, Comfort or First class, all Miles & Smiles card carriers can upgrade to these classes from their Economy, Business and Comfort tickets. Business, First and Comfort class are the options available to passengers who wish to upgrade. Of course, each upgrade will require the passenger to have earned the requisite number of miles. It seems that passengers from the US can fly on Turkish Airlines aircraft from both sides of the country. Thus, passengers can easily access a wide range on destinations with a wide range of travel options available. Los Angeles and Washington DC are two of the largest international hubs in the US and the airline runs multiple flights every week to and from these destinations.
